ACP Information, Referral & Clinical Service

The ACP offers a telephone service for members of the public and health professionals wanting to know more about psychoanalysis or wishing to undertake psychoanalytic treatment. For enquiries about assessment and treatment, supervision and secondary consultation, or training and professional development, please call 0408 225 993.

Assessment and treatment
Referrals of children, adolescents and adults to the Centre's practising psychoanalysts are welcome. The Centre has a firm commitment to the principle of inclusion. Limited ability to pay will not preclude individuals from being offered treatment. Fees are not set by the Centre: they are negotiated directly between analyst and patient. If you anticipate difficulty with payment or you only want an initial interview, please mention this at the time of calling, so a referral can be made to a suitable vacancy within our accessible psychoanalysis initiative. There may be a limit to the number of places in this program, but every attempt will be made to accommodate specific needs.

Supervision and secondary consultation
As well as providing referrals to practising psychoanalysts, the service can refer individual practitioners and groups in the mental health sector to supervision and consultation services.

Training and professional development
The Centre offers a comprehensive program of training in psychoanalysis and runs various seminars, workshops and other events that are open to anyone with an interest in psychoanalysis.
